Community Hospital in Anderson is truly a community hospital, built and supported by the community. As part of the Community Health Network, CHA has evolved and grown to meet the needs of their demographic. We have had the fortunate opportunity to work alongside them, as their trusted advisor, for the last 3 decades.
With the ever-changing and aging community, CHA has been proactive in facility and capital improvements throughout the years. Every area, department, unit, and floor of this hospital has been renovated in order to stay relevant to the needs of the community. A focused effort remains true to mitigate infection control and maintain successful environmental services.
Through campus planning and developing design solutions, we have addressed the challenges of comprehensive space planning within a facility while operating at-full-capacity. Over the years, our efforts have fully renovated multiple departments, streamlining processes and functionality in order to better utilize hospital square footage.
Our most recent project with CHA: Located on more than 120 acres of land at the edge of Anderson’s city limits, CHA is the first hospital in the state to have an in-ground farm located on its campus. Our team at krM is currently designing the on-campus facilities that will support the farming efforts to supply fresh produce to patients. This will also include an assembly building for community education purposes. Sustainable efforts were made in terms of the facilities’ thermal mass, as well as daylighting and water catchment.
