The new Mishawaka Youth Sports Facility will be a 240-thousand square-foot indoor athletic complex housing ten multi-purpose athletic courts, two full-sized turf fields, concessions, bleachers, and medical spaces. The project will also include a high-end pickleball facility with 12-14 courts and be equipped with spectator areas where tournaments and leagues could take place indoors. Achieved by partnership between Card & Associates and the City of Mishawaka, the facility will be completed in Fall 2024.
The project will be approximately $38 million, with roughly $5.25 million of that total earned from the state’s READI grant fund. The St. Joseph County Hotel and Motel Tax board is also dedicating a portion of their revenues back to the complex once it is up and running.
The Mishawaka Fieldhouse is expected to generate 30 to 40 events a year that will bring in tournaments of youth and children’s teams. Northern Indiana, particularly the South Bend/Mishawaka area, has demand for an indoor facility that will deliver sports tourism on a national level. The design team also worked in collaboration with a professional operator company who has an economic development plan to deliver more visitors through sports tourism
