krM Architecture has been a trusted advisor for Earlham College for over a decade. Our team has provided a master plan, facilities assessment, and renovation for a number of the university’s oldest residence halls.
In Hoerner Hall, built in 1963, the team evaluated the 108-bed, two-story building and developed four different options for expansion and remodel, complete with planning and cost assessments to inform decision making. At Bundy Hall, originally built in 1907, krM led a remodel of the front entry and lobby. Our architecture and mechanical consultant team also conducted a study to add air conditioning to the entire 146-bed facility. Wilson Hall also received a number of updates to enhance student experience.
In addition to enhancing their traditional residence halls, krM worked on a detailed analysis of Earlham’s surrounding neighborhoods. This included an assessment of individual houses owned by the college and development of schematic plans for renovating each building. This assessment was paired with an upperclassman housing study to keep the student resident life experience competitive and attractive for Earlham College.
