krM Architecture has had a long-standing relationship with the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library over many years. The recent project involved renovations and modernization to several spaces throughout the building. PGTPL’s goals were to create welcoming environments for patrons and provide staff with flexible workspaces to complete tasks and increase workflow efficiency.
The project included updates to the children’s area and service desk, teen area, study rooms, and the Indiana Room for local history and genealogy, along with the relocation of the main circulation desk. The reimagined children’s area features flexible, modular furniture that can be reconfigured to support a variety of activities. Variations in lighting, furniture, and ceiling heights create distinct environments for different age groups.
